Fiction or fact it matters not, as long as there are animals involved my girls will attentively listen or read. Today’s National Library Week shares from Sleeping Bear Press are for the little animal lovers, be they young or old.

First Day at Zoo SchoolFirst Day at Zoo School :: while the school year is coming to a close many kids will be heading off to summer camp and summer school programs very soon. Alfred the Alligator is less sure about school in general but never-the-less Amanda decides they will be best friends. Follow along as both of these little animals discover that have a lot to learn about friendship. Written and illustrated by Sarah Dillard. Ages 5-7; 40 Pages

These are just some of the fun facts we learned from this book about the unique bedtime habits of of various North American animals. Younger readers will be captivated by the tongue-twisting poems from Judy Young and the beautifully illustrated animals from Michael Glenn Monroe.
