Marlin and Laurie Detweiler founded Veritas Press in 1997. The company was born out of the couple’s disappointment with the educational choices for their children, so they began to explore other options for education. Thus, Veritas Press was born.
Today, Veritas is a comprehensive education provider, offering a complete K-12 curriculum, synchronous Live Online classes and interactive self-paced online courses for history, science, mathematics, English, reading, Bible, logic, rhetoric, art, music. It also offers language courses, including French, German, Greek, Latin, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish, as well as diplomas through an accredited online school, Veritas Scholars Academy. Have you ever thought about online schooling for your kids? This does sound very appealing as my kids get farther along in school.
Veritas is also known for The Phonics Museum Curriculum, an award-winning program giving young children the phonics skills and tools necessary for long-term academic success. The Phonics Museum app is the most innovative and comprehensive reading app available in the iOS store. Based upon the company’s award-wining Phonics Museum curriculum, the app provides each child with a multi-sensory approach to reading with over 900 engaging games, activities, interactions, exercises and memory songs.
I think reading is one of the biggest struggles for my kids. Starting early and being consistent, is the top priority. While there are a number of educational apps available for parents to choose for their children, the Phonics Museum app takes a ‘tools of learning’ approach to build a strong foundation for reading through a complete commitment to a phonetic approach. This is to help them learn to love reading.

November 2, 2017 at 5:28 pmMy daughter was reading step 1 and step 2 books at 4. This would be amazing for my granddaughter because she just turned 4 and has a speech problem so she is a little delayed with reading and such. This looks like it may be able to help.
