As a parent of a preschooler I had started purchasing various workbooks a couple months ago to help aid in teaching my daughter basic writing skills. After getting each of these workbooks home I would look through them more thoroughly and end up disappointed each time. They were either too advanced, too boring, or progressed from a very basic beginner skill to a seemingly advanced skill too quickly. Then we found Kumon Workbooks.
Kumon Workbooks have been both fun and challenging. Progressively building on skills, the Kumon Workbooks give my daughter a chance to master a skill before introducing her to a new concept. Throughout the workbook there are also tips for me as a parent to help in the learning process and prepare me to assist her as new concepts and skills are introduced.
We started with My First Book of TRACING, and as we’ve progressed through the workbook my daughter has become much more confident with holding a pencil correctly and tracing lines on her own. Shortly after starting My First Book of TRACING we also began working on My First Book of COLORING and it was very easy for me to see how the Kumon Workbooks build on skills learned from previous workbooks.
GET YOUR OWN! If you’re unsure which workbook to start your child with just head on over to Kumon’s website and read the descriptions for their workbooks. With a wide variety of workbooks ranging from their First Steps Workbooks (for kids as young as 2) to their Grade School Workbooks (for grades 1-6) you can find a Kumon Workbook to help almost any aged child.
WIN YOUR OWN! Kumon has decided to give one lucky SIMPLE reader two (yes TWO) Kumon Workbooks of their choice!!! Just head on over to the Kumon website and come back to tell us what two Kumon Workbooks you’d like for your little learner!!!
