If you’re anything like me, you don’t love wearing a swimsuit. Not only does a suit seem to highlight everything I’d rather hide, but it feels so utilitarian–great for swimming only. But my kids like to jump in the pool, play at the park and kick a soccer ball around. Or they like to play in the water at the beach, go up to the concession stand for a treat or play beach games. I’d been looking for something I felt comfortable doing all of those things in.
So when I found this cute, modest suit from HydroChic that can go from gym to swim, I knew it would fit the bill. I took the suit from the playground to poolside to the pool. Since the swim skort has a hidden short, I feel totally comfortable walking around in it. In fact, I have a running skirt that is a very similar style that I love wearing to the gym. So I know I’ll wear this even after swim season when I’m heading to the gym. And if you’re looking for something a little more modest, they have swim skirts, pants and shorts. And this adorable swim and tennis dress that I would totally wear even if I was no where near a pool. So cute, right?
As for swim tops, there are just as many options. I went for sleeveless, but they have so many other great options–long sleeved, short sleeved and cute athletic jackets. And they can so easily be worn anywhere. I chose the Bahama Breeze sleeveless option. It is a really bright green–kind of fun, but if you like more muted colors, you might prefer the Tidal Tank or one of the sporty rashguard options.
And, while I’m feeling more comfortable than in a typical swimsuit, I’m also thrilled that HydroChic swimwear is all UPF 50+. So my skin is protected while I’m playing and swimming. And since much of the swimwear is chlorine-proof, it will last a long time–with bright, vibrant colors even after hours in the pool. Check out the options and tell me what you would love to wear and where you’d wear it!
