Today is Love Your Pet Day! Since Gabby’s passing we have really been spoiling her sister Bella. She has been loved on constantly and has really adjusted well to her indoor accommodations. After loosing her sister and not really having any answers for her sudden loss, we have taken action for Bella’s health. We just had x-rays and bloodwork done to be sure that everything is functioning as it should be for a sever-year-old Labrador retriever. We have had Labrador’s since before my husband and I were married twenty years ago, so we are very familiar with this breed. From our personal experience seven years is not a very long life span for a lab.
As you can tell Bella has really adjusted well. She did loose about twenty pounds due to eating less and more exercise. Not really sure if the weightless was contributed from being depressed, but she was a tad overweight. We are trying to make sure she is as healthy as she can be so that she will be with us for another seven years.
Like most dogs, Bella loves to ride whether it is on the golf cart or in the truck. Neither of the girls were taken on rides much because it was too difficult to take both of them at the same time and they would get jealous if we took one over the other. So naturally Bella has been getting spoiled and if you have ever owned a lab you know how crazy hyper they can get exploring new environments.
Now Bella spends her days following me around in the house and helping out when she can. She even helped pull out all the clean laundry for me to put in the dryer, but I wasn’t able to get a picture. Remember to love on your pet today in honor of Love Your Pet Day!
