I was in third grade when I first opened the Little House on the Prairie books. In a matter of two weeks I had read all nine books in the series. I was completely captivated by the stories of this pioneer family.
Of course I’ve watched all the episodes of the TV show and probably re-read the series more times than I can count.
So imagine my delight when my own girls began reading the books! They, too, became captivated with the stories of Laura and her family. The imperious Nelly Olson. And the dashing Almanzo Wilder. {le sigh}
My youngest daughter even chose to research and be Laura Ingalls Wilder in her class Wax Museum project and went as Laura for Halloween this year. She’s kind of adorable! And would easily fill the roll of pioneer girl.
