I am not the most diligent meal planner, but I know that it helps the grocery planning, budget, and flow of our dinner hour. If I have a general idea of what is for dinner each night we usually eat much healthier too. I am NOT the person that plans for the whole month. My advice is to tackle an amount of time that doesn’t overwhelm you. I am far more consistent if I plan 3-5 days at a time. And yes, we hit Wendy’s and have pizza a few times a month.
To inspire you to be more committed to meal planning, you might need some new tools to make it more fun. I get great satisfaction out of writing on my magnetic calendar with pretty dry erase marker colors. I’ve been using a magnetic refrigerator calendar for years. Here is a similar calendar: https://amzn.to/2OX2GBC
TIP: Use rubbing alcohol to erase your calendar at the end of the month.
I have invested in additional markers and this pack is my favorite. The fine tips write very nicely and I split the pack with my daughter because she has a dry erase board in her room she loves to doodle on. https://amzn.to/3aKgGXQ
I will leave you with some links to a variety of our favorite meals…
I hope that brings you some fresh inspiration for your dinner hour! Grab your favorite mug with coffee, light a candle, and take a few moments every few days to plan your next few meals. As the quote goes, “failing to plan is planning to fail.”
