My husband is a wonderful father to our baby boy. He willingly changes diapers, gives baths, manages outfit changes, and totes around baby accessories like the pack mule that all parents of small children really are. However, being a great dad isn’t his only interest. He is also in the military and he’s a tactical gear guy. He loves looking like an “operator.” If he could be outfitted like a SWAT team member on a daily basis, I guarantee he would.
A chance to merge these two interests came when Mission Critical sent me this baby carrier to review for the blog. The second I saw it, I knew my husband would love it. Finally, some baby gear designed with him in mind! Beyond just the tactical look of the carrier, it has way more storage capability than a standard baby carrier due to the MOLLE webbing on the front and back (for the tactically uninitiated, it’s pronounced “Molly” and stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment).
He loves this system so much that he actually suggested that if we ever have a girl we could name her Molle, which prompted an eye roll from me. Naming disagreements aside, the MOLLE system allows other bags and pouches to be easily attached to the baby carrier. To demonstrate this, my husband attached one of his own MOLLE compatible first aid packs to the back of the carrier.
It’s made from very strong nylon and seems extremely durable. The carrier accommodates babies between 8-35 pounds. Our son is old enough that he is able to ride facing in or facing out. It has a handy pocket in the front with a built-in sun shade. My husband is happy with the comfort level it provides and he loves that the vest doesn’t wrap around his waist, leaving him free to hang things on his belt. The low-profile back also allows him to wear a regular backpack with the carrier.
The baby carrier isn’t the only tactical gear Mission Critical makes especially for dads. They also sell a diaper bag, messenger bag, carrier pack, and accessories and they offer a lifetime warranty on their gear. We’re so excited to use this on our family vacation this summer!
Check out the video below and let me know if this carrier is something a dad in your life could use!

June 3, 2017 at 1:02 pmI love this carrier, and I never thought about it before, but how rare to see a dad with a carrier at all. This is one they wouldn’t mind using!

May 24, 2017 at 3:35 pmThis is such an awesome carrier! I love the look and that it still has pockets so daddy can have everything he needs when out and about with baby! I guarantee my husband would have worn this when ours were babies too! 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
