monsters university is NOW available to scare your kids on halloween :: review and fun content

It’s Halloween today! No better time to share a fantastic “monster” movie with you all! It’s Monsters University and it’s available as of this week for purchase!! Have you seen this movie yet? We did in the theaters as well as at home now…a few times, thanks to the copy we received. We love it!  My husband hadn’t seen it yet, so we made a movie night out of it.  All around, it was an awesome movie for our family!

If you haven’t seen anything about it, first of all, I want to ask where you have been living? 🙂 Second of all…I want to share some goodies with you!

Ok, in to the nitty gritty of the post!

Ever since college-bound Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) was a little monster, he has dreamed of becoming a Scarer—and he knows better than anyone that the best Scarers come from Monsters University (MU). But during his first semester at MU, Mike’s plans are derailed when he crosses paths with hotshot James P. Sullivan, “Sulley” (voice of John Goodman), a natural-born Scarer. The pair’s out-of-control competitive spirit gets them both kicked out of the University’s elite Scare Program. To make matters worse, they realize they will have to work together, along with an odd bunch of misfit monsters, if they ever hope to make things right. “Monsters University” bravely explores themes of self-discovery and the revelations that come with growing up.

Just like Monsters Inc., there are a couple scenes of “scary” monsters, after all, that is what their objective is to do in the movie, right?  Before watching the movie each time, I do remind my girls that there are fake, scary monsters scattered here and there.  Overall however, when the movie is done, all they talk to me about are the funny scenes and what so-and-so did during the movie.

A couple of my friends were a little sad that Mike and Sully didn’t graduate college, but I don’t think any children will notice this.  I honestly think it’s just the adults.  That part didn’t make or break the movie for me…

All this being said, I have not hesitated to share this movie with my family {obviously} as well as many friends who have asked my opinion.  I haven’t heard one bad thing {outside of the graduating part mentioned above} about this movie from the people I have recommended it to or just in general when I hear people talking about it.  2 thumbs way up over here!!
