Mountain Rose Herbs has been known for years for their dedication to sustainable organics and highest quality botanical products. I’m very familiar with the quality of products coming from them, as I will not purchase anything but the best when it comes to loose leaf tea, elderberries for making syrup (recipe coming soon!), and essential oils for cleaning and making lotions and soap.
I was not, however, familiar with their Epicurean Organics line! I have to tell you, the products that I was sent got me so excited! I’m not a professional chef – I’m a Mama with a family that I try to cook my best for. So I guess I didn’t realize that having really high quality seasonings or oils made that much of a difference…but it DOES!
I was sent the Olive Oil, Black Lava Salt, Pumpkin Pie Spice, and West Indies Rub from the line.
- I have never tasted olive oil that I like just straight up until I tried this. I usually have to season olive oil, or have it in mayo, but I could drizzle this plain and it was so good! It is really important to know where your olive oil is coming from. If you have not read THIS about how to pick out good olive oil, it is a must read. You could be getting ripped off and not know it. Mountain Rose Herbs olive oil is NOT cut with other cheaper oils like some. It is the highest of quality from Spain, certified organic, super pure.
- I used the Pumpkin Pie Spice for my butternut squash soup. I have never tasted a pumpkin pie spice blend so rich and balanced. I plan to use it for all of my pumpkin and squash recipes this fall.
- I sent the West Indies Rub out to the grill with my hubby for some steaks one night 😉 (This one was spicey but delicious, and my hubby’s favorite!). The West Indies rub is very similar to a curry blend and I plan to use it in a stir fry next!
- I used the Black Lava Salt for roasted veggies (gorgeous and delicious!). I had never heard of black lava salt before, but was intrigued with its claims. Like sea salt it is high in minerals that our bodies need. But black lava salt also “has the advantage of being infused with activated charcoal that assists the body in removing harmful impurities.” Yes please!
