Now that the kids are back in school, I have a tiny bit more time to think about myself. I’ve been working on those summer pounds that found me after a few too many ice-cream treats. I’ve got a wicked sweet tooth so I need to find healthier sweet treats when I’m watching what I eat. Mrs. Freshley’s has these new 7 grain cookies that were exactly what I was looking for in my diet. These cookies are packed with whole grains. The texture is appetizing to me too. I even shared them with my husband and kids. They ALL gave their approval on these cookies.
Look for the 7 grain cookies. They are individually packaged. One of these cookies with my afternoon cup of coffee sends me to a happy place. They have a drizzle of chocolate over them and they are a good size cookie. Each cookie has 6 grams of whole grain. You are of course still eating a cookie, but at least it’s got more then calories to offer. The kids favorite was the 7 grain crème cookies. They are the same idea as an oatmeal cookie with crème, but again, they are packed with wheat, rye, oats, barley, triticale, millet, and sorghum. The kids had no idea! Our box of cookies went FAST! We have nut allergies in our home and it’s often hard to find snacks that are full of grains that don’t have nuts too. I am always excited to find a cookie that our whole family can enjoy.
