Right now a teething baby is my nemesis and I live with the philosophy of “What can I find that helps?”
When a baby is teething I’m not sure who it is more difficult for, the parents or the baby. While I will freely acknowledge that the baby has to deal with the pain of teething, the parents have to deal with all the side effects of the baby in pain and for how sharp those new little chompers are it is fairly painful for them to emerge.
One of the new items in my arsenal of ‘soothe the grumpy baby’ bag of tricks is the
Munch Mitt. This comfy little teething mitt fits right over baby’s hand to give him a soothing textured surface to chomp away on.
The Munch Mitt is very versatile being that it is interchangeable for either hand, has an adjustable wrist strap, comes in a few cute colors, and there’s even a Munch Mitt Mini for when your baby is smaller. But more importantly, they cannot drop it. Anyone who has ever given a baby a toy will understand just how great it is to not play the “I throw it down, you pick it up” game.
The food grade silicone on the end of the mitt is textured – which seems to be much more interesting for my little guy to chew on than a smooth surface. With teething comes drooling and the mitt helps protect their little hands from getting wet. Have you ever noticed how irritated a baby’s hands can get when they are constantly getting chewed and drooled on with teething? I love that the Munch Mitt helps prevent this as much as possible.
Even if your baby is not yet teething I would suggest the Munch Mitt as a great toy. The ‘crinkle’ sound of the mitt is highly entertaining to the littles and since it comes with a travel bag and can be machine washed you can get a lot of use out of one handy Munch Mitt.
