Open up the app and pick a mibblet (a music story book) and the song will begin. You can choose how many background sounds you want going – if you want just the singer, or the singer and the percussion, or the piano and guitar, or the singer and the violin, or all of them! Then you can make your own music to go along with the song. You can play instruments like piano or saxophone or accordion on the piano keyboard along the bottom of the screen. In the top right corner, you can choose which percussion instruments you want to use and tap them along to the beat. Under that is an option to a string instrument. My favorite option for that one is ukelele. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the ukelele.
I dare you to listen to “Gordon, the Puppy Scientist” and not be bobbing your head or tapping your foot just a little by the end!
This week Mibblio company released a brand new app called “Matisyahu’s ‘Happy Hanukkah’ Jam-Along”($2.99). Matisyahu is known for blending traditional Jewish themes with reggae and hip-hop beats. “For ‘Happy Hanukkah’ to be developed into a musical app that allows kids to celebrate the Festival of Lights is special for me,” said Matisyahu. “I’ve personally enjoyed using the app to teach the song to my kids and share in the holiday joy with them. I hope it gives parents around the world a chance to interact with their children in a fun new way this holiday season.”
Mibblio also has a Christmas app that will be coming soon, which will feature artists such as KT Tunstall, Indigo Girls, Guster, G Love and more!
