I am always on the lookout for apps that my kids can enjoy. While we don’t spend a ton of time on the computers, iPhones or iPads, sometimes there comes a time when they do HAVE to get online so I can get a few things done. After all, there are only so many books they can read and pages they can color. We use it as a fun treat, so that when they do have the opportunity to play, it’s a fun time they are being rewarded with.
I recently downloaded My Dolphin Show for my iPad for my oldest to enjoy. Before I download any game, I check out the feedback in addition to the reviews and how many downloads have taken place. I want to know about it before we have in our device. My Dolphin Show has over 7,000 reviews and over 2 million downloads! I’d say that’s pretty good. My daughter is obsessed with dolphins right now, I have no idea where this came from. This app is right up her alley and is a favorite right now. (I have already been on to see what this other app developer has made!!)
So, why do we like it? What is so cool about it?
- They can do tricks – you, as the trainer, train them! The more you play, the higher the level of tricks you can perform.
- Their skin can change color and you can dress them in costumes. What little kid doesn’t LOVE doing this 🙂
- You earn coins as you play along.

There ARE in-app purchases available. They aren’t tricky ones that your child will unsuspectingly be clicking and purchasing. You can easily close out of them. There are NO in-app advertising gimmicks. Hallelejah!! 🙂 I have sat down with my oldest each time she has played so far to help out if need be. She hasn’t really needed it, but it’s been something fun for us to do together. They suggest ages 8-10.
