What is it about when you are little and you name your stuffed animals and things?  Kids love to do it. So, of course, I turned to my kids and asked them to name the Snackimals Lion from Barbara’s.  We had several names picked out, such as Leo and Lucy.  They finally chose Ollie.  What would your kids choose to name the Lion?  I am getting to the reason why you really want to name this lion.  So, Barbara’s is having an awesome giveaway and it let’s anyone (18 and up) help them name the Snackimals Lion, and one lucky family of four will win a trip to Safari West in California valued at $2,800!  Hurry and go enter on their facebook page!

I also want to tell you a little bit about our experience with Barbara’s while I have you here. One of the most important meals of the day is breakfast, right? My kids always wake up hungry and are wanting breakfast right away.  Do your kids do this? Do they get it themselves or do you make it for them? Most of the time I make it for them.  Sometimes, we need to do a quick and easy type of breakfast, which will include cereal and a fruit.

Now, I try to find cereal that meets my criteria. You know reading the labels trying to find out what’s actually in what you are about to buy.  You really have to be careful on what your buying now. I am excited to know I don’t have to worry with Barbara’s, they are committed to carrying products with honest ingredients.

We got a variety of products to try. I have to say that with their cereal being organic and full of healthy ingredients, the taste is amazing. We are loving the cereal.  My kids really love it the most.  These are great for breakfast or snack time, with or without milk.  We also got a few cookie packs that are great for my kids to share as a snack or after dinner dessert.

I will leave you with a fun recipe from Barbara’s Bakery. This would be a perfect after school snack for the kids.

• 2 whole peaches
• 1 cup greek yogurt
• 2 cups of puffin cereal, Honey Rice by Barbara’s Bakery

Wash and cut peaches into small pieces. Place cereal into a small Ziploc bag and crush into a coarse mix with rolling pin. Please 2 tbsp. of cereal mix into shot glass. Then place 2 tablespoons of yogurt on top of that. Add some cut up peaches then top it off with a sprinkle of the cereal crumbles. Quanitites will vary depending on the size of the glass. Just use equal portions for all ingredients.
