If you’ve been around for a while you may recall me sharing about the Every Kid in a Park program from the National Park Service but this program is just so amazing that I felt it should be shared again! For those of you who are not familiar, the Every Kid in a Park program is a way for 4th graders (or the homeschool equivalent) to get free admission to our nation’s national parks. lands, and waters. Beginning September 1, 2019 the children entering 4th grade this fall will be able to start their new passes and enjoy a whole year of free entrance to these national treasures. You can view the complete Rules & Instructions on the official website as well as learn more info about planning a trip for your family.
I’m very excited for our family to have a 4th grader again next year and am already planning some National Park trips for us because the pass also includes entrance for all children under 16 and up to 3 adults (once again, go look at those official Rules & Instructions)! Now, if you’re child is about to leave 4th grade and you didn’t get their pass this past year, do not despair! You can still have your 4th grader complete the program to receive a pass for the remainder of the year, by signing up on the official Every Kid in a Park website for a pass that will be good through August 31, 2019.
For those of you feeling extra industrious feel inspired by the family I know who took a 3 week vacation this spring to use their 4th grader’s free pass visiting as many parks and sites that they could on that vacation. Their kids have quite the collection of Junior Ranger badges and I know that they had fun while learning so much from the many places they visited.
So, which parks will your 4th Grade student be taking the family to this coming year?
