It’s a new year, and I’m starting it off right with all of my laundry caught up! It’s been that way since right before Christmas, and I’m doing my best to keep it that way. I have shared some of my ideas on here before, and since it’s a battle I’m always facing, I thought I’d share some more thoughts, as well as my thoughts on a new laundry detergent.
I love this time of year. I woke on New Year’s Day so excited for a fresh new year. I have written down a lot of things I’d like to accomplish this year. Some are big things, some are just things I want to be better at, and some are new things I’d like to try. A clean slate just seems so exciting.
One “resolution” I have is to stay caught up on laundry. While I realize this is going to look different from week to week, my goal is to not ever get so far behind that it takes weeks to catch up! Here are the ways I plan to accomplish this.
1. Only start a load that I know I can wash, dry, fold, and put away in the same day. I’ve heard others who use this strategy before, and it didn’t seem like something I could do. Putting laundry away seems to be thing that I always gets behind on so this is my new goal!
2. Do one load of laundry a day. We do at least 6 loads of laundry a week with kid’s clothes, sheets and towels, gym clothes, farm clothes, and regular clothes. I have decided that every day I will do at least one load, even if ends up being a small one. This goes along with the first goal, making it feasible to get one load accomplished in a day.
3. Treat stains as they come. I love getting stains out of clothes, and I am so frustrated when I can’t. My goal for this year is to spot treat stains on any of the kids’ clothes before I go to bed at night, that way I know they won’t set in too long.
So, these goals are simple and attainable and something I know will make life easier if I can stick with them. I shared Molly’s Suds with you before, but I am loving their newly launched liquid detergent! Their laundry line contains ingredients you can count on both hands, assuring you that there are not extra additives and chemicals. I know that I am washing our clothes, sheets, and towels without all the extra chemicals, and our laundry is as fresh and clean as ever!

January 8, 2017 at 7:52 amI do try to keep up with my laundry each day. I do not like it to pile up and I only use natural products. I would really like to try Molly’s Suds. My family has sensitive skin so I have to watch which detergents I use.
