To celebrate Father’s Day we have a special feature, The Ballpark Classics Baseball Game MLB™ Edition. We received this game via UPS not long ago and it has brought the family hours of fun and continues to do so, even this very day. Not being an avid “baseball” family I was not sure how I felt about the game, but once we started playing the game we realized the hours of fun that we were really going to have! The fun continues! My husband and I can rattle off a quick nine inning game in under a half hour and if Lili (our four year old) wants to play we just plan on the game being a little longer.

The game is really best described by Ballpark Classics. The Ballpark Classics Baseball Game MLB™ Edition is a “tabletop baseball game that features all the action and strategy of real baseball. The pitcher must out think the batter, the batter must decide to swing or take pitches, and players can use situational baseball strategies to win. Each game is both a fully playable scale model ballpark and a handsome conversation piece. The STORY of Ballpark Classics is as good as they come. Here is an excerpt:

…about 10 years before the classic baseball book Shoeless Joe was written, later adapted into the film Field of Dreams, Doug’s dad (Doug is the owner of Ballpark Classics) decided he didn’t want a house built directly across the road, so he bought the two lots and cut a baseball diamond out of a cornfield for his son and their friends to play on. Years after, it’s no wonder Doug’s wife had to guide a sobbing spouse back out of the theater and drive him home after seeing the movie. Field of Dreams remains his favorite film.
