When my son started climbing out of his Pack N Play, I started thinking about what our options would be for travel. As our third child, the Pack N Play made staying in one hotel room easy since we came with our own bed. While looking into sleeping bags, tents and other options, I came across these nap mats from Wildkin.
While nap mats are often thought of as a daycare must, I am loving being able to use one while we’re on the go! I have a few other products from Wildkin (toddler rolling luggage and a fantastic backpack for my tween), so I was happy to find a nap mat from a brand I already trust. And when I found the licensed Superman print (for a great price), I knew my little guy would be thrilled. Check out all of the other fun prints, too. Everything from trucks and mermaids to super heroes and Paul Frank monkeys. Plus less age-specific stripes and zig zags in fabulous bright colors.
The first time I put him down for a nap on this nap mat, I noticed a few things. 1. The bottom of the mat is nicely padded–way more so than a typical sleeping bag–so while he was just lying on the nap mat, he was still really comfortable–it didn’t feel like a hard floor! 2. The attached pillow was the perfect touch–one less thing to pack! 3. The attached blanket is oversized, which is big enough to cover both of us while I’m giving him a nap time cuddle, and big enough for him to roll around without becoming uncovered immediately. 4. The mat rolls up into itself and has a handle that makes it easy enough for even my toddler to carry. And, I can’t leave out the fact that he was actually excited to nap–he felt like a big kid and was so excited about his new nap mat!
Better than what I thought, though, was what my toddler thought. And he took a great nap on his nap mat. I plan on taking this every time we travel from now on. Since the mat and blanket are very generously sized, I can imagine getting several good years out of this Wildkin nap mat! What Wildkin nap mat features do you like best?
