Home to me has always been about the people there and not so much the place.  As much as I love to have a clean, nice place to live, I love even more making memories with our family. Our home is still a work in progress! With an old farmhouse things are always coming up making some of our interior remodeling and decorating secondary to important issues with the electrical components of the house, the well, and the foundation! So while these major issues get tackled, I am slowly getting to repainting some rooms and working on decorating. Each room that gets finished though is exciting, and I love finding perfect pieces to compliment a room. We have loved working on these projects together as we work on making our home exactly what we want it to be.

My husband has been using some old barn wood and coming up with some pretty cool projects for different rooms of the house. We love the modern, rustic look and he’s found ways to use things we have to achieve this look! I have come across some pretty talented people through Etsy who have made things to add a personal touch to our home as well. Avaberry Lane is one of those shops, and I am so excited about the monogrammed sign for our room! So while our remodeling, redecorating, and refinishing our house continues, I will enjoy looking at this beautiful sign with our family letter, and be reminded that our home, while it may not be quite finished, is a place where we are making memories with each other and our kids!
