please come, spring, so we can wear adorable umi shoes!

I can’t believe I am even THINKING about spring as we have snow here in Michigan. Yes…NOW!! Seriously, you guys. I have had enough of the snow. I’m thankful we didn’t go anywhere for spring break this year because I would have HATED coming home to this madness. Are you kidding me!!! The silver lining is coming this week though, we have highs in the 40’s and 50’s. Wahoo! I really hope this means warmer temperatures are here to stay…

Alas, we do have to prep for warmer temperatures though. I am not one to go and buy all.the.things. as soon as the weather changes. With four kids, I do like to scatter things around a bit. It makes the blow not as bad, you know, financially and all. I like to get a little here, a little there. Are you like that? What do you do?

For us, we like our shoes. Me and the fashionistas like all the shoes. Sandals, mary janes, flats, boots…everything! When we talk about #SpringFashion, we talk shoes. We recently received two pairs of fancy-dancy shoes from Umi shoes. This brand is a first for us, however, Emily has covered Umi shoes in the past on the site. I always LOVED what she shared, but I had my “go-to’s” and I stuck with what I knew out of simplicity. It wasn’t until around Valentine’s Day when I started chatting with Umi that I decided to give it a go. So glad I did!

My 6-year old received the ones shown above, the Umi Marin II shoes. She loved them online and when they arrived, she loved them even more. I like that they have the extra wide strap so it keeps her feet in the shoes a little better.

Also, did you know that Umi shoes are handcrafted shoes made from natural leathers and materials? I did NOT know that.

I do want to mention something on sizing. Since this is a new to me brand, and it’s new again to the site (and we have a lot more readers now, YAY!), I wanted to be sure to point this out. We ordered according to the sizing chart, but the shoes do run a little big. So, take that into account when you order. The shoes my girls received are a little too big to wear right now, but heck, at the rate they are growing these days, it won’t be long before they are grown out of these too. Ha!

Back to the shoes. Yes, I did say the shoes my girls received. We received another pair too! Equally as cute and durable and great for daily use. My 4-year old received the Umi Celia sandals. They come in multiple colors, but I think this pink will be matching about everything this spring and summer. Again, my favorite feature (outside of the cute factor on all the shoes!!) is the substantial straps to hold the feet in the shoes. I’ve never been much of a fan of the flimsy sandals you can pick up all over town. I like to have my girls in the sandals that hold their feet in tight! And the leather is NOT that tough, thick kind. It’s very flexible.
