This year I’m one of the many mothers who has a Kindergartner for the very first time. Where have the past 5 years gone?!?
Did you know that August was Get Ready For Kindergarten month? While I won’t be sending my Kindergartner off all day to school (we are homeschooling), we still have a lot of special ways to start the school year out right.
For the past few weeks she has been diligently working on some of those basic skills she had not used much over the summer. Writing and reading letters, asking the daily 46,980,321 “Why?” and “How does this work?” questions every parent of a 4 (almost 5) year old will recognize, and then her personal favorite CRAFT PROJECTS!
For my dino-0bsessed little girl this year’s Back-to-School crafting gladly includes the new Dinosaur Train fabrics we got to try out from Quilting Treasures.
To start, with a minimal amount of cutting and sewing the 1-yard piece of fabric to the right turns into a nifty plush Dinosaur Train book!
The folks at Quilting Treasures have also provided the super easy instructions on how to turn your Dinosaur Train fabric into a pencil case that the little dinosaur lover in your life will treasure as they start their learning career.
Of course you can always create a pin board like the one I did with some Dinosaur Train fabric earlier this year. See my how to here!
Any special projects that you completed this summer or are still to do for starting your little learner’s school year out right? (Please note that this fabric is NOT intended for child’s sleepwear.)
Dinosaur Train fabrics :: approximately $12 per yard can be found at select independent retailers. Check your local Quilting Treasures carrier to purchase.
