a simple recipe :: rice krispies cupcakes for any occasion

We had such a fun Easter celebrating our risen Savior!  Easter is one of my favorite holidays for so many reasons!  I love teaching our kids why we celebrate Easter and I love the fun things we do around the holiday too!  The kids loved their class at church, and we enjoyed some fun activities leading up to the day too!  We love our resurrection garden and our resurrection eggs that the kids use to learn about Jesus.  They also loved getting to participate in a few different Easter egg hunts too!

This year we had an extra bonus as we traveled south for a few days to warmer weather and for a fun visit with family!  My parents always go out of their way to make our visits special with fun things to do, fun treats for the kids, and just time spent together.

One of my favorite treats my mom made for Easter was these adorable little rice krispies treat cupcakes.  They are such a simple idea, but I thought they would make a great little treat for any occasion, and they are so easy to make!

Rice Krispies Cupcakes

Ingredients:

8 cups rice krispies cereal

1 bag (16 Oz.) marshmallows

2 TBL butter

Special occasion treat topper

2 cups frosting

Melt butter in large saucepan.  Add marshmallows and heat over low heat until melted. Remove from heat and stir in rice krispies cereal.  Press down into grease muffin tin with wax paper.  Allow to cool for 30 minutes-1 hour.  Remove from pan and pipe on your favorite frosting and top with a special candy treat. Serve for a fun treat for any occasion.
