I’ve been fascinated with wood pallet projects for a while. I’ve probably pinned a hundred different ideas, but I just haven’t ever gotten around to actually doing them yet! But I was inspired by an outdoor seating area that my cousin just finished and then the DIY Wood Pallet Projects book by Karah Bunde showed up on my doorstep a few days later!
This book includes 35 different projects, each with detailed instructions. They range from super-easy (as in my kids could help) to fairly difficult. But none of them are really too hard. The larger furniture seems to be the most time-consuming, as you’d expect…but even those look manageable.
She begins by explain about where to find {free} wood pallets, how to know which ones are best to use, how to clean them, and how to get them apart. She also explains the different types of tools you may need and even includes pictures so that you’ll know exactly what you’re looking for when you head to the tool box or supply store! Once you get all that down, you’re ready to tackle one of the projects!
I love the picture frames and the wood clock that you see on the cover of the book. For the inside of the home, she has more than just picture frames and wall art. There are larger furniture items like a bookcase or a pet feeding station. There are holiday crafts and ideas for the yard. And, as I mentioned before, tutorials on several types of furniture – things like a headboard or dog bed, tables, chairs, and even a bench.
