I recently had a conversation with someone about what would be involved in moving, and they shared that it would be hard to move after many years of being in one place because the more comfortable you are in a place the more it feels like home. They expressed that for them it would be hard to move to a new home after walking in the same door and having each room in the same place for so long. I completely understand where this person was coming from, but it got me thinking, as I often do, of what makes our house a home for us. I try to make our home a place where our little guy will make lots of memories with us, and I also look for ways to make it a place where my husband can come home to a comfortable place after a long day at work. To me, though, home has always been about the people I share a house with! I lived in the same house my whole life until I left for college, but even when we go visit my parents at their new house, it still feels the same as home when we are all together making memories under the same roof. My husband and I are now living in our 5th home in our 9 years of marriage, and I have to say that each place quickly took on the feeling of home as we settled into our routines of life together.
We have settled in what we hope to be our home for many years to come, and as I’ve mentioned before, we are in the process of renovating parts, and in some cases just making each room our own. Rusticly Inspired is a beautiful Etsy shop that creates wall art for any room! I love the piece that she created for our living room! “Family is What Makes This House a Home” is exactly the feeling I have in our home, and I hope our kids will as they grow up here! It has added such a nice touch to the room, as it hangs just over family pictures!
The pieces she creates are beautiful. She puts care into each piece making it something special for you. She has many options to choose from, or is willing to create something with your own special quote. Each sign is hand painted and has a rustic look to it! Check out all the selections over in her Etsy shop.
