I seriously like this product so much, it’s going to be hard to keep it to our 300 word limit. But here goes with my attempt. 🙂
First off, I wanted to share with you something about me. I haven’t ever made baby food before. It always intimidated me. I’m not too savvy in the kitchen – the apple DID fall far from the tree on that one (my mom is an amazing cook). So the idea of preparing everything was quite the task in my mind. Well, given this is baby #3 for us, why not right?
Here is how I actually came to this choice. Due to circumstances, I had to stop breastfeeding much sooner than I anticipated. I was heartbroken over it. Once the choice was made, I started researching everything I could on what would be the best things that I could put into my baby’s body (since breast milk wasn’t an option – and in my opinion that is the best). Making my own baby food was one of the answers I came to. Shortly after that, I found Sage Spoonfuls!
I started to document my journey on Twitter. If you want to follow along or see what’s been happening since, check out #mybabyfoodmakingjourney! For some reason all the tweets weren’t saved in the hash tag, but you can see some at least! 😉
You guys, this package has it ALL! Being a newbie baby food maker, I feel this is just outstanding. It has the food processor, the containers, and more importantly, THE RECIPE BOOK! This book rocks! I like to follow along and do exactly what I am told (especially when I don’t know what I am doing) and this book says just that. It gives a bajillion recipe ideas, step by step instructions, what to feed at what age, an index…oh I could keep going. (You can purchase the book alone too BTW). On top of the book, the food processor as well as the immersion blender are easy peasy to use. Quality. And once I’m done with these tools, I get to fill up the containers provided. These containers are super nice too, twist off/on top. However, I have filled up all my containers. And the more beautiful thing about this – you can purchase additional storage systems! So…this product fits every momma’s needs no matter where you are at! 🙂
We have made this a fun family affair. The big sisters are helping, as much as they can. But they love seeing our little Preslee eating and trying new foods!
The last thing I want to mention. With the documentation I am doing on Twitter and Facebook, I have had several mommies write me personally. They too were intimidated by making their own baby food. But in seeing me be so transparent, they are hopeful that they can do it too! YAY! 🙂The On-The-Go Package includes the following:
