tandem Do you have a loved one who lives far away? My parents moved from Michigan to Tennessee in 2005. In 2007, I gave birth to our first child. They hopped in the car as soon as they found out I was in labor and managed to make it just before my daughter was born. They are good like that, making sure they are here for every birthday and every holiday. It has been tough for them to live such a great distance for their grandchildren but we have found ways to make it seem like they are not so far away. That’s why I was so excited to learn about Tandem Lane, a monthly service that puts together personalized care boxes for that special grandparent or elderly parent in your life.

Each month’s box is created around a theme and assembled by the experts at Tandem Lane. They, in turn, will email you to find out if you want to include photos or a letter written to your loved one (by you, of course). Once the package is perfectly put together, Tandem Lane will send it on to to the lucky recipient. Here is an example of what is included in one of their recent boxes:

Tandem Lane offers care packages for both men and women, and tailors each one accordingly. This year’s Father’s Day box included a John Wayne movie, a sports trivia game and beef jerky, among other things.

I don’t know of anyone who wouldn’t love to receive a care package in the mail. Remember when you were younger and you waited and waited for your parents’ care package to arrive while you were away at summer camp? It was the highlight of the summer. Now you can return the favor…..and all for as low as $19/month. Bring a smile to their face with a box from Tandem Lane!

What a wonderful idea. I wish my Grandma was still alive because I’d do this for her in a heartbeat.

I really love this subscription box idea. Family seems so spread out these days, and this box would help keep you in-touch with loved ones. It seems like a really nice gesture. : )
