I have had the privilege to travel around the world. I’ve been to St Lucia, Jamaica, Alaska, and even Europe, but perhaps one of my favorite vacationing spots involves packing up comfy clothes, throwing some firewood in the back of the truck and heading north.
Ahhhh… Camping! That one vacation where no one cares if you are in your PJ’s all day or that you have no makeup on and that you probably skipped your shower that day 🙂
There is just something awesome about the smell of a campfire and gorging yourself on s’mores at 11 o’clock at night… Sitting in the smoke of a campfire hoping that the wind will shift it away from you while chanting “white rabbits, white rabbits.” Then going to bed smelling like carcinogens. Just living the dream!
But seriously though, we just had a wonderful family getaway at Higgins Lake State Campground in Michigan! I thought I would share a few photos from our trip and maybe inspire you to get in touch with your “earthy” side and enjoy the great outdoors!
