Happy Wednesday! I thought it would be fun to talk lunch today, lunches for your kids that will not only nourish their bodies, but make them happy!
Lunch should be so much more than PB and J. They have just spent all morning learning in school, playing outdoors…living the life of a kid!
Their brains are made up of mostly fats – they need to be replenished! Their bodies function on nutrients and minerals – they need to be restored!
I’d love to talk lunch ideas! Use the comments section and tell me what you are packing in the lunchboxes or serving at the table this week! Tag me up on Instagram and hashtag #toddlerlunch #preschoollunch, so I can see what those sweet babes are eating!
We love using the Food For Life rice tortillas to make chips for dipping! They are in the freezer section at our local store – pretty popular brand so I would assume they are pretty much everywhere. Just fry them up quick in some butter or coconut oil, sprinkle some sea salt, and cut up into triangles! They keep well for lunchboxes, and make for great dipping! We were dipping in homemade hummus for this lunch, but they dip well in guacamole, and make great quesadillas with raw cheese! We also had steamed broccoli with butter and sea salt, and had some bananas. Adjust portions to the ages of your kids!
So what’s for lunch at your place this week?

May 10, 2014 at 8:14 amMy son also loves hummus! I’ve found that if I take even regular sandwiches and use a cookie cutter on them, they’ll be more likely to be eaten. It takes an extra minute or two, but a peanut butter sandwich with a star cutout just makes it more appealing to a 2 year old, I guess.
