Christmas Day is almost here and you still don’t have a gift for Aunt Susie, your niece, or your next door neighbor? Here are a few last minute gift ideas that you can make and it won’t look like you fished it out of the bottom of your closet as they walked in the door. (Not that I’ve ever done that or anything).
- If you own a pair of scissors and have access to a big tee shirt:
This is the simplest tutorial I’ve ever seen. It quite honestly takes only a few minutes to make one of these infinity scarves. My 7 year old made two of them for herself. {tutorial & photo credit: Leanne of Organize Your Stuff Now} - If you can sew a (kinda) straight line:
This is the best tutorial I’ve ever seen for peasant dresses. I’ve made several of these for my girls and friends. Don’t be intimidated by it. It’s really just about 12 straight(ish) lines of sewing and she gives really great details on how to! From start to finish, you can make one (or maybe even two) of these in an hour or two. {tutorial & photo credit: Jaime of Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom} - If you can’t sew but can cut:
This is the easiest blanket ever. All of my kids have at least one. They’re perfect for cuddling and super simple to make. {tutorial & photo credit: Rachel of Adventures of a DIY Mom} - If you have a ventilated area:
We have these personalized welcome mats at our front door and our back door. {tutorial & photo credit: Kimba of A Soft Place to Land} - If you love the monograms:
I’m not sure if it’s like this all over the country, but we looooove our monograms down here in Georgia. These are a few pieces of wall art that I made and they are as simple as they look. Paint your canvas and hot glue on either Legos or buttons in the shape of your letter. - If the kitchen is your happy place:
I only make this candy once a year because if I made it more often I would eat my weight in it regularly. (I don’t bother with the white chocolate on top). {recipe & photo credit: Taste of Home}
