There are a lot of really nice posts about loving your mom body. I am the first to agree that we shouldn’t miss out on life because of our perceived body issues. While I read those posts and I find encouragement….this is not that kind of post. I’ll be transparently vain and admit that I am super obsessed with sunless tanner. I have it in my head that I look thinner when I’m sporting a tan. Make my mushy mom body a little bit tan and my confidence goes up a notch or two. 🙂
Skinny Tan has some products that I really liked. If you’ve ever used a sunless tanner, you know there are some bad situations you can find yourself in if you don’t apply it correctly. My biggest tip is to prep your skin! The pre-tan primer is your best friend. It smells deliciously tropical and it gives your skin an exfoliating scrub. You need this step to make sure you don’t get any orange patches on dry areas of your skin after applying the tanning lotion. Skinny Tan also has the best tanning mit that I’ve used. It doesn’t get pilled or leave behind fibers. It’s a great help in achieving an even tanning application. The last product I want to mention is the after glow. It not only extends the life of your tan, but it makes your skin look so healthy. It adds the perfect shine for a really nice glow.
Top on my list of complaints about self-tanners is the smell. I wish I could tell you that it smelled like roses and you drop 10 pounds overnight when you apply it, but it does have the usual scent that self-tanners offer. I find it works best to apply it before bed and take a shower in the morning. I’m neither tan or skinny, but Skinny Tan helps me take an edge off my shockingly white legs. I feel more confident in shorts or sleeveless options when I have a little bit of a tan. It’s most likely in my head, but I kinda believe the saying, “Tan fat looks better than pale fat.” 🙂

September 20, 2016 at 12:09 pmI, too, always complain about tanning lotions that have too strong of odors. I also prefer to have tan legs over the bright white especially living here in cold Michigan. I will have to try out this brand.
