If you are like me and notice that laptops come with this VERY annoying little fingerpad mouse thing and that drives me insane! It is impossible to move your cursor with any accuracy and I was having trouble coordinating the finger scrolling/holding down the button technique. So for me, I have to use a mouse. IT is a must as is for my BF. When smartfish contacted me to review their notebook mouse, I was sure this would be great to use with mine or BF’s laptop.
If you have never heard of Smartfish Technologies, here is some information about them from their website:
Smartfish Technologies was founded on a passion for healthier living, smart technology and true ergonomic innovation in an ever-growing electronic world. As a practicing chiropractor for many years, Smartfish president and CEO Dr. Jack Atzmon met with thousands of patients who continually complained of hand, wrist, shoulder and back pain. Through his extensive knowledge of Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI), commonly known as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Dr. Atzmon began to understand that a key contributor to these ailments came from the day-to-day use of computers—specifically, repetitive and static positions while using mice and keyboards.
You can read all about the Ergomotion concept on the Smartfish Technologies website but, basically, the concept is all about encouraging natural range of motion while computing in order to increase blood flow and reduce inflammation. These two concepts help to reduce the incidence of repetitive motion injuries like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. You can see in the photo below the range of that the Smartfish Ergomotion Laser Mouse provides. Check out their YouTube video for an actual demonstration!
It was so simple to install….the little thumb drive that comes with the mouse inserts into the USB port of my laptop and it installs itself! I put batteries in the mouse and that is IT! Ready to use…I can now zip my little arrow all around without using the fingerpad at all.
