snuggle with your memories and the patchwork bear :: review

I cannot even begin to describe the rush of emotions I felt as I pulled this amazing bear out of the box. Every piece of him is made from an article of my son’s clothing, so as I looked at every color, design and detail, I could not help but remember all the fun I had snuggling with my sweet little boy (who is growing up WAY too fast!). There may have been fews tears running down my cheek as I saw all of the special details put into designing my bear!

Let me start at the beginning though… how did this amazing bear of memories come to be?? The Patchwork Bear makes a Keepsake Memory Clothes Bear from YOUR clothing! I happened to choose a few onesies and pants that would remind me that my baby boy really was little at one time despite how big he may get, but you could always use old high school t-shirts, a wedding dress, clothing from a loved one who passed away, or any clothing that reminds you of a fond memory. The memories are yours… The Patchwork Bear is just there to help build your memories into a sweet and tangible bear.

The Patchwork Bear will send you a kit to assist you in picking out the clothing you will use to have your bear made. You can be as detailed as you would like, even down to which piece of clothing is used in different sections of the bear’s body. I started by being very specific, but in the end decided to allow the amazing designers at The Patchwork Bear to work their magic… and I am so glad that I did! I left them a few notes showing them which pieces of clothing were my favorite and asked them to use them first, but other than that they had free reign. The results were magical!

After sending the clothing into The Patchwork Bear, it took a few weeks to receive the bear back, but it was worth the wait! I plan on making one of these for all my children (if God decides to bless us with more in the future!).
