soda is better when it is DRY :: review

DRY Soda Co. logo 1There are a few things I try to avoid when choosing soda to drink. Artificial colors, artificial flavors, excessive calories, tons of sugar, and those extensive lists of unpronounceable ingredients? Well I’d rather pass thank you. If you’re like me and prefer to avoid those same things then there is a good chance you too will enjoy DRY. DRY is soda, but better.

DRY cherryEach DRY soda flavor has between 45-70 calories, has no caffeine, and is gluten free. With only 1/3 to 1/4 the sugar of traditional soda, DRY is less sweet than traditional soda. Even better every DRY flavor has only 4 ingredients. Four.

  1. Purified Carbonated Water
  2. Pure Cane Sugar
  3. Natural Fruit, Flower, or Herb Flavor
  4. Clean Preservative

DRY soda has some VERY unique flavors, Blood Orange, Ginger, Vanilla Bean, Apple, Cherry, Rhubarb, Lavender, Juniper Berry, Cucumber, Wild Lime, and Pear. I was lucky enough to try their new Cherry flavor as well as Cucumber, Lavender, and Rhubarb. Thanks to the use of natural fruit, flowers, or herbs to flavor DRY soda, each flavor tastes distinctly and exactly like what is supposed to without being overpowering.

Rhubarb Soad Pure GeniusIf you too wonder what each of these flavors would pair or mix well with you need to check out their Flavor Profiles. After checking out the Flavor Profile for Cherry DRY I have decided that my next can will be enjoyed with a salad topped with goat cheese and balsamic reduction (seriously, this is going to be my lunch today). Without the mixology suggestions for Lavender DRY I would never have thought to try mixing it with Frangelico, or the Cucumber DRY with Tequila.

DRY Soda Co. offers their various soda flavors in 12 oz. aluminum cans and/or 12 oz. glass bottles in singles, 4-packs, or cases. You can find DRY at restaurants, bars, cafes and retailers across the US and Canada. You can also buy DRY online and have it shipped right to your home!

Beyond the resource of the Flavor Profiles available on DRY you can also find a list of great Pairing Recipes and Cocktail Recipes on their site. I will freely admit that I’m rather excited to work my way through each of these lists!

I have never heard of these before. I am glad they came up with this alternative. I drink way too many unhealthy, syrupy soft drinks! I am sure going to be on the look out for these.

Unfortunately I am a Pepsiaholic! This would be a great alternative. No caffeine, less sugar and gluten free to boot. Never heard of it before. Thank you for the review.

These are a bit pricey, but the ingredients are so much better. They probably would be great as an occasional treat.

I’m not a big soda drinker, but there are definitely times when I crave something like this! I hate the idea of giving myself tons of chemicals, sugar, and whatnot with other drinks. This looks really yummy… thanks for sharing. 🙂
