summer fun and learning with subscription crates :: round up

Summer is almost here and I know that many of us are thinking ahead to keeping our kids busy this summer with things other than screen-time. There are so many great ways to keep your kids engaged and work on new or beloved skills. If you’ve ever thought about trying out a kid themed crate, box, or subscription service here are some great ones to start your search.

1) Raddish :: cooking
Try a single kit from the single kit shop or try a monthly subscription to help your kids learn new cooking skills and try themed recipes. I have reviewed this service before (review HERE) and months later all three of my kids still LOVE this subscription. Younger kids can participate with assistance and even teens can benefit from the easy to learn approach to these recipes.

2) Ivy Kids :: educational subscription box
We have not personally tried this box before but I have heard rave reviews from fellow parents with kids in the recommended age group (3-8 yrs). Each month contains a book and at least 10 activities to go with the story.

3) KiwiCo :: art, science, technology, geography, engineering, play, discover
Kiwi Company has many different crate lines and available themes that cover ages 0-104. We have personally tried the Kiwi Crate, Doodle Crate, and Tinker Crate and have found each to be a great option for the recommended ages.

4) Bitsbox :: coding
This subscription first came to my notice when recommended by a parent who is works in coding. Recommended to help kids ages 6-12 learn how to code to make their own apps, but even teens or adults who are new to coding have had fun learning with these boxes.

5) THiNK OUTSiDE Boxes :: exploration and survival
We have not yet tried this kit but my 9 year old daughter is very excited to start a subscription and learn more about exploring and survival with the resources they provide in these monthly kits. Recommended for ages 7 to mid-teens, however they do say that younger children could enjoy the kits with assistance.

    There are some fun boxes out there and I am deciding which one I would like to get for my 9 and 10 yr old grandsons to keep them busy and be educating as well. There are some pretty good ideas here! My 17 yr old daughter cannot live without her Allure or Ipsy box subscriptions, and enjoys the products monthly.

    All these subscription boxes seem terrific. My family enjoys subscription boxes with different types of natural or healthy snacks and foods.
