Once again it’s no secret that we love Dinosaur Train here at our house. During last week’s 80+ degree temps Miss Dani was marching around wearing her Dinosaur Train slippers (this from the kid who I can’t get to keep socks on all winter long – go figure).
Anyway, the new offerings from Dinosaur Train are perfect for a little summer fun! After repeated requests from Miss M to throw a dinosaur party, I decided to try the new Dinosaur Train Cake Toppers and Dinosaur Train Cup Cake Rings from DecoPak with my own special twist on summer fun… an ice cream cake!
Now, as much as I enjoy baking, my decorating skills are less than stellar and the thought of baking in the heat of summer sounded just plain miserable. After some brainstorming, I decided that my version of ‘baking’ would involve ice cream, loads of yummy whipped cream and crushed cookies all topped off by Buddy, Tiny, and the Dinosaur Train cake decorations!
The decorations and rings were a big hit with all the kids and I was impressed with how sturdy the Dinosaur Train Cake Toppers were. I’ve already washed them to be reused for our next cake ‘baking’ experience and even after being played with by the kids (the wheels really roll!) the cake toppers are ready for another round of fun.
After all the ice cream cake sugar buzz had worn off I needed some quiet time and Dinosaur Train served up some help for me in the form of the new “Buddy’s Favorite Trips” sticker story book from Penguin Young Readers Group.
Each page has a one or two lines about one of Buddy’s many Dinosaur Train adventures that comes with reusable stickers for each page. There are over 75 stickers for the entire book and with the endless possibilities of moving the characters around this is sure to be a summer favorite. Miss M had so much fun setting the characters for each scene!
