In a little over a week there will be three types of people glued to their TVs watching the Super Bowl: 1) people who really love football (whether they are cheering for “their team” or not); 2) those who really love the ads; or 3) those who really love the half time show. Whichever type you may be there is one universal truth about watching the Super Bowl and that is a definite need for snack foods. While I am still unsure what my family will noshing on that particular day I do know that Chex Cereals will be on hand in one form or another – seriously, is it even a party if you don’t have Chex Mix?
Thanks to my friends at Chex Cereal and General Mills Cereals for not only sharing the delicious recipe in the photos with me but also for the fun Super Bowl Party care package! Instead of sharing a new recipe of my own I’m going to share with you 4 fun recipes for making delicious Chex Cereal treats for your family this coming week. I hope the pictures of these fun (and SUPER easy) Football Chex Cereal Treat Bars help inspire you!
1) Football Chex™ Cereal Treat Bars from Chex Cereal :: this recipe has only 5 ingredients and 5 steps. It’s practically fool proof! My little chocolate lovers added some more melted chips to the top of our finished product and had so much fun helping to make these fun treats!
2) Brown Sugar Bacon Chex Party Mix Recipe from Living Locurto :: my children are bacon fiends and when I make bacon I have to hide it if I want to use any for recipes. With my little bacon lovers around I have a feeling I would have to move fast if I want to actually be able to eat any of this deliciousness!
3) Coconut White Chocolate Chex Party Mix from What’s Gaby Cooking :: for Christmas this year I made Gaby’s “Christmas Crack” recipe and I should have hidden the freezer stash better. There is less than a cup left and my husband has gotten most of it for himself. With the addition of coconut in this recipe my hiding game will need to go up a notch if I want to have any left for myself after the big game.
4) Almond Butter Chex Cereal Muddy Buddies :: I love this recipe that I shared just over a year ago and it has been a hit with both my no-peanut and peanut loving family members.
Don’t forget the original Chex Mix as well! I frequently take the shortcut on this and buy the bags at the store, but if you have the time and inclination don’t hesitate to make the Original Chex Mix Recipe for your party crowd. It’s a classic that disappears quickly and is always a hit!
