This week we are celebrating my sweet dog Harley’s SWEET SIXTEENTH birthday! I’m feeling so fortunate to have this precious dog as my right-hand girl for so long. With three kids we like to keep doggy birthday parties minimal. I want a yummy nutritious treat that my dog will love and maybe a few pictures of her with the kids. And, since it’s in the 90s in Michigan right now, I really wanted a no-bake treat! And I came up with this no-bake popsicle cupcake.
“Cupcake” Ingredients: organic plain yogurt, applesauce, peanut butter, Wella Bar of your choice (I used Awesome Almond but I know my pup would love Powerful Peanut as well).
“Frosting” Ingredients: 2 tsp organic plain yogurt, 2 TBS peanut butter, Wella Bar
Directions: Mix together 2 TBS yogurt with 2 TBS applesauce and 1 TBS peanut butter. Put in cupcake liner (I used a silicone liner so it will stand up in the freezer. If you only have paper liners, I would suggest putting them in a muffin tin so they don’t collapse). Freeze until solid. Mix together first two frosting ingredients (measurements are approximate and may vary based on consistency of your PB and yougurt–just try to get a frosting-like consistency for easy spreading). Spread on cupcake. Top with crumbled Wella.
Seriously this is the yummiest dog treat. And since it’s so healthy, there’s no need to wait for Harley’s 17th birthday to indulge!
