I love that my girls have curious minds and are always asking me questions about how things work but I frequently get stumped with explaining some of these concepts on the level that a 5-year-old can comprehend.
Thankfully Ms. Frizzle doesn’t get stumped like this momma and can help teach my two curious minded girls about things like microbes, molecules, and smell. These learning opportunities are all found in the new release from The Magic School Bus, In a Pickle.
All four episodes on the In a Pickle DVD have never before been released. The total DVD time runs about 78 minutes + bonus materials and are intended for children ages 4-10.
Of course, now that the girls have watched “In a Pickle” episode about microbes from The Magic School Bus In a Pickle DVD they are excited to help me actually make pickles. Thanks Ms. Frizzle for turning one of my summer kitchen chores into a science learning lesson!
There’s also a new 3-DVD set that just released from The Magic School Bus titled Revving Up. This new set contains three great DVDs, “Under Construction,” “Getting Energized,” and “Cracks a Yolk.” Each DVD has three episodes and a bonus episode.
This DVD set runs approximately 5 hours including extras and includes the following topics :: engines, structure (with construction), computers, habitat, energy, electricity, light, sound, city critters, eggs, desert adaptation, and ants.
I just love that with these 4 DVDs Ms. Frizzle and The Magic School Bus provide my kids over 6 hours of age appropriate science lessons covering 16 different topics all in a manner that keeps them engaged and entertained. Way to go Scholastic Storybook Treasures and New Kideo, a couple more great releases!
