This Friday is the opening of The Boss Baby! We saw some previews for this in a few other movies and were excited to check out a sneak preview and share our thoughts with you guys BEFORE the movie is released!
Here is the premise of The Boss Baby ::
DreamWorks Animation and the director of Madagascar invite you to meet a most unusual baby. He wears a suit, speaks with the voice and wit of Alec Baldwin, and stars in the animated comedy, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby. The Boss Baby is a hilariously universal story about how a new baby’s arrival impacts a family, told from the point of view of a delightfully unreliable narrator, a wildly imaginative 7 year old named Tim. With a sly, heart-filled message about the importance of family, DreamWorks’ The Boss Baby is an authentic and broadly appealing original comedy for all ages.
Starring the voices of Alec Baldwin, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Tobey Maguire and Steve Buscemi.
Directed by Tom McGrath.
DREAMWORKS ANIMATION
Rated PG.
Let’s talk about the rating. Since I took my 4, 9 and 10-year-olds to the movie, I was a little nervous about the rating. I knew my older kids would be fine, but I didn’t want my youngest to get scared or imitate some language I’d rather keep him unaware of. There were a few scenes that might be considered a bit scary–shadowy figures and mean animals–but nothing that will keep him up at night. And there was some potty talk, but sadly, that’s already a part of our house so it’s not something I get super worked up over. Some baby bottoms and a tiny bit of adult humor that flies right over their heads (but helps make the movie fun for the adults, too)!
My kids range in age from 4-10 (almost 11!) and they all loved the movie. Each had their own favorite parts (that I won’t spoil for the rest of you) and we were all thrilled to spend a rainy day watching a fun movie. With spring break coming up, this would be a fun movie to take your kids to if you’re looking for something to do on a rainy day of vacation or just a way to add a little fun to your extra time at home. Check out the website and click over to the official trailer. I have to say, I thought the movie was cuter than the trailer made it out to be.

March 28, 2017 at 9:49 pmThank you for your review. It helps, as I have a 4 year old and I was worried about the rating. It looks like a fun movie, but I am not that hung up on things that might fly over her head. I will still consult with hubby and read your review to him will help. Again, thanks so much.
