There is not much better in life than welcoming NEW life to a family! I’m talking about BABIES!! Oh it’s baby season over here – yet, not for me this time. Although my husband and I have completed our family, I still jump up and down with joy when I find out someone is expecting. I might scream a little too 🙂 I’m living through them at this point, and I love it! I now get to spoil all my friends’ babies and then give them back!
The best part about a friend having another baby is the fun that comes along with celebrating them at a baby shower. And you know what? Since I had my one and only baby shower 8 years ago, so much has changed! That makes throwing one even more fun. I get to experience it all on a whole different level, on whatever style they have and love. It’s like having a ton of different babies without all the labor pains!
I want to share with you the fun I found while shopping and preparing at Target for what could be an upcoming baby shower!! I wanted to do something a little more creative this time around, and get my craft on folks! I did have a limited amount of time though, like so many people do in this busy, busy life we run. So, to preface, everything I have pictured came from Target, yes, Target did it again! I was blown away that I could walk in to the store and get everything and anything I needed, start to finish, at the same place. I shouldn’t be surprised, but it was a nice benefit!
I started with colors galore. I decided upon something simple, the mint/silver theme. I think it’s quite catchy, especially for a party where the momma to be doesn’t know if it’s a boy or girl yet.
Simple touch.
I thought making a sweet little “memento” would be nice for this shower. Something to show the love for the baby not even born yet, so I chose hearts. Target has a pad of fabulous, thicker stock paper, that has the ombre built in to the color. There were other colors in the pack too if mint isn’t your thing.
Birth Date Guessing Game.
Another nice touch was a simple calendar…yet the calendar was not used for the actual day of the party, it’s used for the guests to put their birth date guest down. More hearts – I cut them out and the guests can put them on the day they think the baby will be born. Initials can be used on the front or the back, just depends the taste of the momma to be!
Treats.
Who doesn’t like gum balls and animal crackers…am I right? Something fun to have sitting around.
Favors.
I wanted the favors to be something everyone could use. Not stuff that will get dumped in the junk drawer or tossed in the trash when they got home. Not only that, but the cute little tin could be used for so much too! I have an extra and it sits nicely on my desk now collecting pens and pencils.

If they were for a shower, I might get some white chocolate and put blue food coloring in it and drizzle them, so that they are festive. 🙂 I’d also get invitations, and I’d hit up their 1-2 dollar area and try to make gift bags for guests if possible. Depending on what items they have out at the time. 🙂
