My husband and I are super thrilled to announce that we are expecting Baby #2 this upcoming April!

You may be wondering what the stacking of stones signifies in the announcement picture. To be honest, my husband and I did not fully understand the meaning of it ourselves until after these pictures were taken, but it has come to mean so much to us! You see, the stacking of stones is a historical Jewish tradition. Jews back in Biblical times would stack stones as a memorial. It was constructed to remind to them of something God had done in their lives. It was to also to remind them to share their stories with their children and teach them about God’s blessings and provision.

Pregnancy has not come easily for us… I won’t go into details right now, but it has been a long journey. Throughout this journey though, we have seen God’s hand at work in our lives. We have learned to trust HIS perfect timing when all we could see was what WE wanted. We have learned to rely on HIS strength when OUR strength failed. We have learned to rejoice with other people when our blessing seemed so far away.

THIS is a memorial to our son and unborn child… God will always uphold us through good times and bad. HE is our source of comfort and strength. HIS timing is always perfect. He hears the desires of our hearts, but KNOWS what is best for us. This is our memorial to our children that God ANSWERS prayers, even if the answer is not what we envisioned or in the time we expected.

God is always good… may our children learn to trust in HIM!

Congratulations! I wish you and baby all the best. I didn’t know about the stacking of the stones. Learn something new every day!
It is completely unrelated, but today I needed to see that statement where you wrote “God ANSWERS prayers, even if the answer is not what we envisioned or in the time we expected.” That’s something I needed to see today, with a personal struggle I’ve been going through.
