When I first learned about The Secret Mountain‘s, W is for Wapiti! An Alphabet Songbook I was pretty intrigued. Their book of fun illustrations for each letter of the alphabet would be great for my daughters.
For some reason I didn’t make the connection that “An Alphabet Songbook” included actual songs… yes, I’m a little slow sometimes but that’s okay. 🙂 My mistake was my daughter’s gain and they now have this fun educational book to help entertain them.
At nearly 50 minutes long I know full well that my 2 and 4-year-olds will never quietly listen to the entire book with songs in one sitting. But I do know that 3 or 4 songs worth of quiet time gives this momma an excellent window to do important things like eat, get dressed, or even have a quiet moment for myself. *Gasp!*
The below video contains the “Let’s Sing It Again” song from the album. This is the ‘wrap up’ song on the album and it touches on each of the letter pages from the book. The video is great because you get to actually see what each whimsically illustrated page looks like.
Just in case you too were wondering “What in the world is a Wapiti?” Well, simply put a wapiti is an elk.
