Last week my girls and I were introduced to The Wiggles and their new DVD release Big Birthday! from NCircle Entertainment. You may already be familiar with this popular Australian group, but if not let me give you a little background on The Wiggles.
The Wiggles consists of Greg (Yellow), Murray (Red), Jeff (Purple) and Anthony (Blue) as well as their well-loved characters of Dorothy the Dinosaur, Wags the Dog, Henry the Octopus and Captain Feathersword the friendly Pirate. In their 21st year of entertaining children from around the world, The Wiggles are definitely celebrating a Big Birthday!
Geared for kids ages 2-6, The Wiggles’ “Big Birthday! invites children to sing, dance and wiggle around with Murray, Jeff, Anthony, Sam and their friends… as they celebrate their Big Birthday. Filled with music, including many classic Wiggles songs performed live, the DVD also offers some terrific birthday surprises and tummy-tickling jokes for even more wiggly, giggly fun! A special bonus feature on the DVD is a one-hour documentary, “Everybody Clap! Everybody Sing!” which covers The Wiggles’ first 20 years.
Both my girls really enjoyed their first exposure to The Wiggles’ “Big Birthday!” While my 2-year-old has requested a repeat showing on a daily basis because she loved all the singing and dancing, my 4-year-old is perfecting her own memorization and delivery for all the silly kid-approved jokes peppered throughout the video.
Whether you are already a fan of The Wiggles, or are looking for some new kid (and parent) approved entertainment for your two-to-six year old, Big Birthday! is a great choice to add to your DVD library. Plus, it’s like attending a live concert without having to take your kids out of the house!
