#aSIMPLEchristmas :: devotions for beginning readers :: tommy nelson :: review + giveaway

Have yourself a Merry SIMPLE Christmas
unnamedI’ve had the privilege to review several books from Tommy Nelson now, but I don’t think I ever let their mission sink in – “raising faithful kids.” Wow! What an awesome responsibility we have as parents to raise our kids to be faithful… faithful to family, faithful in responsibilities and most importantly faithful to God!

But how do we achieve faithfulness? By being faithful ourselves and showing our children how to live for God! When we are living for Him, the rest will fall into place. Perhaps the most imports way to teach our children is by being in God’s word and teaching them HIS way.

With Devotions for Beginning Readers, your child can be in God’s words and learning more about him every day without big words and confusing statements. Being a Christ-follower is simple; let’s make it simple for our kids to learn more about HIM!

Build confidence in young readers as they learn about God’s love.

Devotions for Beginning Readers will help young readers build confidence in their reading skills as they are learning how to have a relationship with Jesus. Aimed at beginning readers from kindergarten through third grade, each devotional will include colorful illustrations and contain short sentences and scriptures from the International Children’s Bible. Also featured is a “today’s word” segment, a vocabulary word that will be repeated throughout the devotion to help children develop their reading skills. Each devotion will close with a short prayer that helps children learn how to pray.Short, straightforward sentences and carefully selected words allow for pleasurable reading and easier comprehension.

I think from the beginning learning about God will help your child’s development in their growing years. What a blessing being able to share the story of God with your little ones.

Beginning early is the key to success! As an adult I find it harder to memorize scriptures. The bible says to store His words in your heart. If I can help my kids do this early, the better they are in the long run.

Young minds are so impressionable and we find it extremely important to build a strong foundation while the kids are still young.

We homeschool and starting our day with devotions gives our day a whole new sense of purpose and meaning. Take care of the seed now so it can have the greatest chance of flourishing later.

It’s important to start developing a relationship with God when you are young because it is important for them to know that God is good, and that they must always have faith and walk in his ways.

They learn from us, and by starting them with their own devotionals, they will understand why we do ours. Their own understanding of why we follow God, and what his word means to each of us. This will help their inner heart.

It is important to let your children see what they can do to have a relationship with God. Seeing it everyday is so much different than hearing someone talk about it.

Because younger minds absorb everything they see and hear so it’s important to start teaching them about faith early on. Also a family that prays together, stays together!
