We hit up a couple shops, but nothing extreme. While we were there we went to American Girl, the Lego Store, the Disney store and had lunch and dinner at two separate restaurants. Lunch was at the Rainforest Cafe and dinner was a the California Pizza Kitchen. We were so loud in both of these restaurants, but loud to me means loads of fun. 🙂
We reserved Saturday for the Shedd Aquarium. The girls had never been and I had always heard such wonderful things about it. What a blast this whirlwind trip was!! TONS of memories created with our family and friends!! We talked about making it an annual trip!
I want to share with you my go-to outfit for this crazy town too! The thing about Chicago is, it’s typically always cold. While packing, I realized my “layering” outfits were slim to none this year. You see, I still have this baby belly that I can thank baby Kensington for. Thankfully, no one has asked me if I’m preggo, but I’m still super conscious of it. Right now, I dress to conceal the best I can. All that being said, my choices are a little less than they have been in years past. I was talking with my girl over at prAna and we decided on the perfect outfit that would not only work well as layers for the Chicago weather, but I was comfortable in choosing it for my “problem area” as well.
I absolutely love the Kirsten Tunic Sweater. Not only are the colors absolutely fabulous, the length is just as awesome. It kept my bum warm as we went in and out of stores and covered that same area discretely, but was very flattering and not frumpy. Total win! I paired this with some Kara Jeans that I previously shared with you all (you can get these in NEW colors now since my prior post!! I have the herringbone on my Christmas list). The Milly Vest was added for some extra warmth for this given outfit, yet I can see this vest being worn a LOT! It’s again, not frumpy, and lays really nice. Plus, the color is stellar and pops any outfit. You guys, I LURV it!!
All in all, the outfit was fabulous, and the trip with my family made this weekend perfect.
With all the stellar choices at prAna, what would be your top one from their site to add to your Christmas wish list this year?
