For the past few years Ive been seeing an idea to wrap up 25 books and open one a day to read with the kids and I’ve always wanted to do it. Unfortunately, I’m forgetful and I’m also a procrastinator. For the previous years I’ve forgotten until at least a week or two into December. I was excited about this year though, because I thought about it before December even started! But… I haven’t bought wrapping paper and probably won’t until at least the 15th. I try to avoid going to stores after Thanksgiving. Anyway, what we usually end up doing is having a big basket of holiday books and I let the children pick out a new one to read each night. It may not be pinterest-perfect, but we still enjoy it! So what are our favorite holiday books? My kids like holiday-only type books, but they really love seeing their favorite series characters in Christmas books.

November 28, 2014 at 2:26 pmI did this with both of my kids when they were little! I bought them new books to unwrap each night in December (like an Advent calendar). Then in January, they would pick out a few faves to keep & then we’d donate the rest to our library!
