Now that April has finally arrived I feel like we can say that Spring is near. Of course, as soon as I feel that way we have a few more days of cold with the occasional snow flurry, but it’s April and that is to be expected. To keep ourselves from losing it with the indecisive seasons our family plans on celebrating these fun holidays this month.
I feel like this is the easiest vegetable to get kids to eat. Always the first vegetable to disappear from veggie tray and they pair well with many types of dip, hummus, and even peanut butter!
There was a pretty long stretch of time where one of my children consistently informed us that they were “the ruler or Unicorn Land” like it was a real thing. Whether or not your kiddo has a strong imaginary unicorn based back story, this day can be fun for the whole family to celebrate.
While their looks totally creep me out *shudder* I am truly appreciative for the pest control these little critters perform on a regular basis. This is the perfect day to learn a new bat fact, bake some bat shaped cookies, or set up a bat box in your yard.
Are you even a parent of an elementary aged kid if you haven’t heard the following joke? If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring? – Pilgrims. If it is not an actually rainy day for us I may just make the kids pretend like it is with a movie night and some snuggling.
Lastly, I am super excited to share this last holiday for the month. Not only is saving a great life skill for adults, it is a skill that can easily be taught to our children. I stopped in at our local credit union the other day to find that they are celebrating kids and saving all month and I suggest checking with your local financial institution to see if they are offering any specials, incentives, or special events, for kids to learn more about saving this month.
Whatever way you’re making things fun as we enter the busy time between Spring Break and the last day of school I hope your family is able to make some fun and lasting memories!
