There are very few things as exciting as opening up a new book. One of those very few things is opening up an old favorite book. You already know the plot. You know the characters, the setting, the everything. You can hear the words in your head before you even read them. They’re special books that you find yourself savoring instead of swishing through.
Anne of Green Gables is one of those books for me. One I wish I could carry with me in my pocket and pull out little bits of Anne-ness when I need it. Now with Litographs, I can! You can, too! We can wear the words of some of our favorite books! I was so excited toΒ Anne of Green Gables tee on the litograph list because really…who doesn’t love Anne?
You’ll see that the design is Anne’s signature braids. From a distance it looks like nothing more than a lovely design with white space (my favorite). But when you look closely? Wow. That’s where you find the true brilliance of these shirts. The entire design is created with sentences directly from the book! Let’s take a closer look at this, shall we? (Click on the partial braid to see a larger version).
Remember when Anne was telling Marilla about how she thought of a beautiful prayer but by evening she’d forgotten it? And then she says one of my favorite things: “And I’m afraid I’ll never be able to think out another one as good. Somehow, things never are so good when they’re thought out a second time.” That’s true for more than just prayers! And, if you look closely, you can find those wonderful words, all from the original story.
These shirts are incredibly well-made. The fabric is soft and comfy. The print is small (as it should be) but very not smudged or have words bleeding into each other. (Due to the nature of how the shirts are printed, there may be some slight distortion). And it is mind-boggling to me that these shirts use an average of 40,000 words on each shirt!
And it’s not just shirts! They have tote bags and tattoos and posters, too. My next purchase will probably be the Little Women tote. How fun would it be to use that as a library bag?
Something to note: The fitted women tee runs small and you should order up a size.
One winner will win a $34 gift code to Litographs.com

April 3, 2015 at 1:38 pmThis is so cool…and I can’t believe you’re reviewing this company! No lie, I have had a tab open on my iPad for WEEKS, probably two months, that has my shopping cart for Litographs! I’ve had a hard time deciding. π Also super cool is that they actually HAVE my favorite book, which is *Siddhartha*! Now for some Jack Kerouac, and I’ll pledge my unending loyalty to this company!
