Growing up, I had this doll. Her name was Samantha. And boy, did I love her. Heck, I STILL have her. She now resides in the room of my oldest. She is an American Girl doll, did you have her too when you were younger? Well, here is what I love about what American Girl is doing. They keep imagination in their things and continually bring new things to the forefront so young, and old!, children alike continually yearn for the new and fun things.
And that’s what today is all about. The new, from the past…
I’m sharing with you Maryellen Larkin–an optimistic, energetic girl growing up in Daytona Beach, Florida, in 1954. She was released at the end of August from American Girl, adding to the Beforever doll line. I have wanted to share her with you all before now. Timing sits well though as you can use this information today to start a list of your own for a Christmas list addition. Who am I kidding though, if you, or someone younger in your family loves American Girl like we do, you already know this info.
The Maryellen product line includes the 18-inch Maryellen doll and two-book series, several 1950s-era doll outfits and cool new accessories that combine iconic ’50s aesthetics with innovative features that extend the play experience for girls, including a TV console that works with a girl’s iPad, and a jukebox that plays ’50s-style songs and connects to electronic music players.
I wanted to show you what you will see in stores when shopping for Maryellen. I had the opportunity to check this out in Chicago and LOVED seeing it all!! The whole store had music playing from the 50’s…the era her character comes from.
There are even fashions for the little ones in your life, that are inspired by Maryellen and her era. Historically-inspired outfits for girls, that are still cool for today. I’m loving it!
Well, what say YOU? Are you clicking over and checking it out as much as I have been over the past few months here? She is one that the kids will love, yet another one the kids will love. That’s a better way to explain it. Ha!
